SoHo aka South Howard Avenue

If you live in Tampa you most likely have heard of SoHo, or if you're coming to visit, I'm telling you right now to add it to your list. South Howard Avenue is a main road located just outside of downtown Tampa. Along its stretch, SoHo is home to some best restaurants, bars, and trendy boutiques, but I'm going to talk about my favorite things drinks and food!

Let's start with my personal favorite thing to do when making a trip to South Howard... the BARS! If you're over 21 SoHo is definitely the weekend (or weekday, I don't judge) hot spot for a night out. Whether you're looking to bar hop or stay awhile SoHo has a bar for you.

If you're visiting Soho and don't have time to hit all the bars here are my personal top 3 must-visit bars.

1. MacDinton's is an Irish pub that sticks to their Irish roots. There are drink specials every night of the week with Friday being an open bar from 6 pm to 8 pm. Along with drink specials, MacDintons has occasional live music and trivia nights. 
2. Yard of Ale according to their website is, "Tampa's top craft beer destination", I'm not saying that but they are. Although they are known for their craft and bottled beer, they do have select cocktails and wine for the non-beer drinkers. 
3. The Tree House quite possibly the most modern out of the three, to me anyway, is a quaint bar whose decore mirrors that of.. you guessed it, a treehouse. Not only is the inside very nature like, but they also have an outdoor bar with swing seating. Aside from the interesting atmosphere, The Tree House states on their website that they will "plant one tree for every  Herbaliser Cocktail Sold", so if your unsure what to get you can get the Herbaliser Cocktail and help the environment!

Now, I don't know about you but I'm always looking for new restaurants to try. Soho is the perfect place to explore different types of restaurants. No matter what style of food you're in the mood, SoHo will have something for you!

Here are my personal top food places throughout SoHo.

1. Datz is often referred to as the comfort food restaurant, and when I think of comfort food I think of anything greasy. Datz is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; breakfast is only severed until 11 am. My food recommendation for everyone is to try the Music City Chicken Tacos, it's the perfect mixture of flavor and will leave you wanting more. 
2. GreenLemon is a Mexican restaurant with a modern flare. Green Lemon has the typical tacos but also has menu items like Gigante Chicken, which is chicken tacos glazed in a spicy avocado. While Mexican food is a staple in every city there I haven't found another one quite like Green Lemon.
